New Leaves Mobile App
As part of my Google UX Design Certificate I designed a mobile app and a responsive website for people who need advice on caring for their plants. New Leaves will act as a tool for properly identifying and caring for all types of common plants around your home or workplace. In the initial mockups I have been using mostly species native to the Pacific northwest as placeholders since that is where I am based currently. Below are several screenshots of what the user will see as they move through the app.

Below are several digital wireframes that came before the mockups for the mobile app.

Below are a few hand drawn wireframe sketches that were part of my early development of the New Leaves mobile app design.

Responsive Website
To go with the Mobile app I have been working on a webpage format for New Leaves as well. I decided to experiment a little more with the color and artwork and adjust for functionality of a desktop device. Below are some screenshots of what the user will see as they move through the website.

Below are a couple examples of digital wireframes that came before the color mockups.

Beacon Food Forest Hummingbirds
I created a poster graphic for the Beacon Food Forest as part of a call for art inspired by the garden environment. Inspired by my visits to the garden space and the Anna’s hummingbirds that visit frequently, this design combines digital elements with a color pencil sketch done on paper.

Below are some additional process sketches as well as the original color pencil sketch on paper. These were all done in 2025.
Foss Waterway Museum Tote Bags
For this project the Foss Waterway Museum in Tacoma, WA wanted Tote bags printed with artwork inspired by their collection of diving relics and living sea life. I visited the museum and took photos of a wide range of what was on display. I then made a series of sketches that I turned into graphics with the intention of making 2 different composite designs.

Once I completed a series of sketches I then prepared a final design that I would be screenprinting directly onto the tote bags. Additionally, I applied dye free hand to give the bags some additional color. I was pleased at the range of material that I was able to include in the design and I think they both give a good feel for what the museum has to offer.

Equinox Open House Poster
For this project I was hired by Equinox studios in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle to create a poster design for their annual Very Open House event in December 2024. This yearly event welcomes the public to visit the Equinox properties and tour the artist studios. I wanted to create a design that invoked the unique sense of place that Equinox creates as well as the spirit of celebration that makes this event special.

In addition to the classic poster format the Equinox team also requested the design be formatted as a postcard, a social media banner, and a band flyer for a planned performance.

Pet Portrait
A friend recently asked if I could make a design of their dog to be printed on some handmade notebook covers. I asked if they could provide me with a couple photos that I could use to draw from and then went about my usual process of making some sketches on paper use pencil and marker.

I enjoy the challenge of taking a photo like this and turning it into a graphic that really conveys the feeling of the subject. I really enjoy the way that simplicity can still convey the essence and character of a particular subject.
